What have I learned in this project?

In this project, I learned how to create art using waste and how crucial it is to try and reduce the waste we produce because it really is having a negative impact on our environment I have learned the designer process the steps to design something.

I have developed my designing skills, creativity, and thinking skills.

What did I do good?
The fact that I was able to still produce something even after changing my plan in the last minute, overall its not that bad(my art piece)


How could I have improved my work?
I could've improved my work by sticking with my plan and using more recycled materials because  I changed my plan in the very end and that caused me to rush my design so it's not really well planned and designed and I only used plastic caps so it would've been better if I used more recycled material so it fits the global context a little better.

What would I change about the topic?
I would not change anything but if I would it will be the fact that we don't have to find our own artist and copy or do something similar to their style.

What did I enjoy about this topic?
I enjoyed the researching part because I like to find new information about different artists.

How does the global context link with the topic(waste as art)
The global context(globalization and sustainability ) links with this topic because we are reusing materials to create are, we are trying to be sustainable for the earth by recycling plastic or waste and transform them into art.

How do you think art can help with globalization and sustainability  
I think art can help because we can create artworks by using wasted stuff and it saves landfills and saves us having to burn the plastic down which releases greenhouse gases and cause global warming another thing is the ocean, we save more waste, we save the ocean, and we can do that by using art.

Do we as humans have an obligation (responsibility) to protect the earth? 
I think we as humans have an obligation to protect the earth because we live on the earth, it's our home.
It's our responsibility to keep our house clean and save right?
So why can't we do the same for the earth?
I definitely think we as humans have an obligation to protect the earth.

How were you inspired by the artist anatsui?
I was inspired by him because he was able to create such beautiful artworks just using waste which is pretty amazing and I got inspired becuase I want to create something like him.

How can waste be used to make art? how can it bring awareness to the global waste problem? 
Waste can be turned into art in many ways, it could be a painting, a sculpture, it can bring awareness to the global waste problem because we can have a message behind the piece of artwork, for example, creating a fish using plastic might make people think about all the plastic in the ocean or use recycled paper to make trees it could make people about the fact that this paper came from a tree it could raise awareness like that.

what was your message in your final piece?
My message was that plastic can harm trees too becuase
if the plastic is covering the base of a tree trunk it can lead to the death of a tree
